Dual Enrollment

FTC offers a limited number of programs that are eligible for dual enrollment. Students in these programs may attend FTC while also attending high school. Dual-enrolled students receive credit for successfully completed coursework at both their secondary school and FTC.

Dual Enrollment Programs

Eligibility

  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Must be a high school junior or senior
  • Must submit a completed FTC Dual Enrollment Approval form
  • Must submit a copy of a high school transcript documenting the state-approved GPA requirement
  • Must meet the intended program’s basic skills levels required for completion

Registration Process

  1. Student schedules a meeting with a high school counselor to discuss their interest in the program, determine eligibility status, and complete the Dual Enrollment Admission Application in the dual enrollment packet
  2. Student completes FTC's online application
  3. High school counselor sends student application to the FTC Student Service Manager
  4. Student and parent(s) meet with FTC Program Facilitator to discuss program details and ensure that the program is the right fit for the student. The Program Facilitator will review the following items with the student and parent(s) at this time:
    • Course details and expectations
    • Student's acceptance status
    • Student's start date
  5. FTC Program Facilitator notifies high school Guidance Counselor, student, and FTC Registrar of student's acceptance
  6. Student meets with FTC Registrar to complete registration packet (which includes the medical packet for medical programs), and obtain student ID and parking pass
  7. Student attends FTC orientation and returns medical packet (for medical programs only) to FTC Program Facilitator. The following items will be covered during orientation:
    • Program expectations and policies
    • Uniform requirements
