GED Attendance Policy:
The GED Preparation program is open to students in a variety of schedule options. Every student is expected to attend a minimum of 10 hours per week during these hours in order to maintain a continuum of academic progress. This includes students enrolled in online learning.
Since this program is designed to meet the individual needs of its students, any extenuating circumstances that interfere with classroom attendance should be brought to the attention of the Student Service Manager in order to develop a schedule appropriate to one's personal situation.
GED Discipline Policy:
The School District's Code of Student Conduct and school rules are in force during regular school hours on school premises and at such times and places, including, but not necessarily limited to, school-sponsored events, field trips, athletic functions, and other activities where school administrators have jurisdiction over students. Additionally, school officials are authorized to take administrative action when a student's misconduct away from school has a detrimental effect on the other students or on the orderly educational process. For more in-depth information, please see the
Campus Handbook
.
GED Fees:
The Florida legislature has passed new laws requiring tuition fees to be charged to students who attend Adult General Education programs. The programs include GED Preparation, Adult Basic Education (ABE), English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), and Vocational Preparation Instruction (now called Applied Academics for Adult Education). This is a “block tuition,” which means that a student may register for more than one program within the term and will pay only one tuition fee. Tuition and fees are non-refundable.
The tuition is $50.00 per semester.
Each GED Exam is $32.00 per test.
