Flagler Community Education is a friendly environment for learning in Flagler County. At FCE, we offer a variety of classes from basic computer education to aerobics and strength classes. We have summer camp for K-6, kids' and adults' tennis, and much more!
Step Up Program Step Up is a life skills program for adults with special needs ages 22 years and older. We provide continuing education by enhancing self-worth, independence, functional abilities, self-confidence and integration into the surrounding communities. The program offers training in personal management; social skills; community based instruction; leisure/physical fitness/recreation; and pre-employment skills.
Eligibility Requirements: - Step Up is a contracted Medicaid provider. - All participants must have completed an application with the Agency for Persons with Disabilities and either; (a) be on the Medicaid Home & Community based Waiver; (b) be on the waitlist for the HCBS waiver; OR (c) have documentation from APD stating the student is not eligible for the HCBS waiver in which case a medical diagnosis from a licensed physician must be presented. - Students must be independently mobile in a 1:10 ratio setting and be able to tend to their own personal needs i.e. feeding and toileting. Hours of Operation: Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 1:30 pm 30-Day Trial Requirement: All individuals who meet the initial eligibility requirements above will be admitted to the program for a mandatory 30-Day trial period to determine if the eligibility requirements have actually been met and that this is the proper placement for the individual. Step Up Around the World New Beginnings Program The New Beginnings Program is meant to help qualified participants with day care services while they are attending Flagler-Palm Coast High School or Flagler Technical College Who can participate? - Students enrolled in Flagler-Palm Coast High School or FTC Career Programs - Students enrolled in FTC GED programs and/or ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) students - Have child(ren) 0-3 years of age - Low Income (poverty level)
